What do I need to consider before, during and after treatment?

- For effective laser hair removal with skinflow, you should ideally shave the area to be treated one day beforehand
- You should avoid intensive UV radiation (sun or solarium) for four weeks before the treatment.
- Drinking enough water is extremely important! Just two litres a day supports your metabolism and helps your skin to become more elastic and healthy.
- Epilating, plucking and waxing should be avoided for at least three weeks before permanent hair removal.
- Injuries to the skin cannot be treated. Ingrown hairs and any pustules must be carefully examined beforehand, but are generally easy to treat. The appearance of the skin improves significantly and sustainably in the long term. Temporarily and for a short time, skin irritation may increase in individual cases.
During the treatment
Before every laser hair removal treatment, you will go through our treatment checklist with your skinflow specialist to ensure that all the requirements for a safe treatment are met.
After the treatment
- Avoid UV radiation from sunbathing or tanning beds. Protect your skin with appropriate clothing or sun protection
- Avoid putting too much strain on your skin after the treatment, e.g. through intensive sport or a visit to the sauna
- Avoid using essential oils and aggressive peeling products

What is the difference between the traditional IPL method and your I2PL method?
At our skinflow institutes in Munich, we work with the so-called I2PL method for permanent hair removal. This stands for “Intense Pulsed Light” of the next generation – intense pulsed light. This technique is therefore a further development of the IPL and laser method for permanent hair removal.
The energy of the light is even stronger: nevertheless, these light pulses are very gentle and safe – and much more effective than IPL or laser technology.
With the I2PL method, a much broader spectrum of light can be directed via the dark pigment melanin in the hair down to the hair root, which is then destroyed – including the smallest supply channels – so that the treated hair no longer grows back. However, as not all hairs are in the same growth phase at the same time (approx. 10-15% at the same time), several treatments are always necessary to achieve a truly permanent result.
