The duration of the treatment depends on the size of the area to be treated. We also reserve 30 minutes for small areas such as the chin or upper lip. Armpits or bikini take between 30 and 45 minutes. For the chest and stomach, back or legs, the treatment can also take 1 hour. It is important to us that we have enough time to carry out the treatment carefully.

As a rule, 8, sometimes 10 treatments are necessary for a perfect, long-lasting result, as our many years of experience (since 2010) with many thousands of treatments carried out per year shows. Rarely, 6 treatments are sufficient. However, this cannot achieve complete (100%) depilation of the area. This has biological reasons and is related to the growth cycles of the hair.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of uncertainty about this question. We at Skinflow have been specialists in permanent hair removal since 2010 and our customers confirm that our treatment results are generally really permanent. This is because no more hair can grow from a successfully treated hair root.

With the introduction of the so-called NiSV (Ordinance on the Protection against Harmful Effects of Non-Ionizing Radiation when Used on Humans), a so-called certificate of competence was introduced. This can be obtained, for example, through state-certified or approved cosmetics training and/or by attending training courses.

The treatment technology we use is particularly gentle and safe. This is also demonstrated by the fact that we do not require any cooling and that we can treat any area of the body. Our customers tell us that they feel a distinct tingling sensation, some feel a prickling sensation, but of course everyone feels this a little less or more individually. Important: If you feel this tingling/prickling sensation when the impulse is delivered, you will immediately feel the success of the treatment!

Here are some reasons that would rule out treatment or postpone it to a later date.

• If you are pregnant and while breastfeeding (recommended)
• For skin cancer or certain skin diseases in the area to be treated
• If you have recently taken antibiotics or antidepressants (in the last 14 days)

At our skinflow institutes in Munich, we work with the so-called I2PL method for permanent hair removal. This stands for “Intense Pulsed Light” of the next generation – intensely pulsed light. This technique is therefore a further development of the IPL and laser method for permanent hair removal.

The energy of the light is even stronger: Nevertheless, these light pulses are very gentle and safe – and much more effective than IPL or laser technology.

With the I2PL method, a much broader spectrum of light can be directed via the dark pigment melanin in the hair into the hair root in order to then desolate it – including the smallest supply channels – so that the treated hair no longer grows back. However, since not all hairs are in the same growth phase at the same time (approx. 10-15% at the same time), several treatments are always necessary to achieve a truly permanent result.

Of course, we also welcome spontaneous visits to our institutes. However, our treatment experts usually have a busy schedule. We would like to take around 30 – 60 minutes for the consultation so that we can provide you with individual and comprehensive information and advice. We also want to carry out a skin and hair analysis and show you in a live experience how gentle and careful the treatment method is. Therefore, it is definitely better if you make an appointment in advance.

Slight redness on the area to be treated usually subsides after just a few minutes. Longer-lasting redness or skin irritation, which you often hear and read about on the internet, is usually caused by providers who work with low-quality devices or where the staff are not trained and have no treatment experience. You can contribute to treatment safety yourself by observing the basic rules, such as no intensive sun exposure 14 days before the treatment, no antibiotics and no antidepressants or St. John’s wort.

Yes, because we also offer electroepilation. In contrast to laser or IPL treatments, which are particularly suitable for darker hair, electroepilation (also known as needle epilation) is effective regardless of hair color or skin type! This means that blonde, red or gray hair can also be treated reliably. With this method, each individual hair is treated at the root – permanently. Only in the case of very fine downy hair does this method reach the limits of its effectiveness.
